This Propagation Light is an ideal lamp for young plants, as it has a good spread of light and gives equal lumen's to a 400w Metal Halide Lamp without the same heat or electricity implications.  Which allows you to get the lamp much closer to the plants, whilst maintaining a high humidity.

The Cutting Light comes with two Sylvania Grolux 55w mixed spectrum bulbs for maximum blue output.  This unit has a standard one-year guarantee.

Propagation lights provide an intense blue spectrum of light ideal for vegetative growth.

They are largely used over metal halides because they use less electricity and generate less heat.  This allows the humidity to be on the high side, which is preferred by young plants whilst still providing enough of the correct light.

A 110w propagation unit is equal to a 400w metal halide bulb, so you can reduce your electric bill whilst you increase your humidity and get better results.

• Why do I need a propagation light?

These cuttings lamps are largely used in large greenhouses, recessed. If you do intend to hang this light in a domestic situation, outer housings are available.

Despite these running more efficiently and cooler with the covers removed, covers are required to meet EC standards.

It comes with two 55w fluorescent cuttings bulbs and these output similar amount of light to a 400w metal halide bulb but without the heat.
